MAXI GAMES WAS PRESENTED DURING A PRESS CONFERENCE
The second edition of the International Maxi Games was presented in Mar del Plata (host city) this Wednesday during a press conference held at the Meeting Room of the Ente Mixto de Turismo (Emtur). Its president, Bernardo Martín, and members of the International Maxi Games Committee Darío Weglin (vice-president), Susana Treidel (secretary), Franco Zullich (pro secretary), Gonzalo López (treasurer), Viviana Busso and Ezequiel Re (members) were present.
The event will take place from November 24 to December 4, 2026 with the participation of 20,000 athletes over 30 years of age from different parts of the world who will compete in 30 sports disciplines. On the occasion, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Emtur and the International Maxi Games.
“THE MOST SUMMONING EVENT”.
Bernardo Martín was the first to say a few words about the Games: “For 2026 it will be the most summoning event. 20,000 athletes and their companions will come to Mar del Plata for 10 days. We are certain that this city is the best place in the world to hold it. They will find many alternatives to have a great time, beyond the values of the sport”.
Then Treidel said that “we are reediting these Maxi Games, whose first edition was in 1991. We thought of Mar del Plata because it can give us the security because it has scenarios, hotels, with support and infrastructure, with people from the tourism area of the city who can understand what it is all about. We have been thinking and working on the Games for a year now”.
Zullich added that “We have joined forces with leaders of several sports to organize this event, which is very important and will be a success. We are defending sports continuity and that is undoubtedly the most gratifying thing. It is an event that has social, sporting and touristic transcendence. We will work together with all the disciplines. It is a great challenge and a true celebration of maximum sport”.
Weglin highlighted that “different actors of the city opened their doors to us. It is a great pleasure to come to Mar del Plata. We are happy to be part of it, it is a nice challenge to be part of this great massive event, with so many disciplines and athletes. Mar del Plata represents all that it does, as its slogan says”.
