“WE RECEIVED STRONG SUPPORT FROM THE CITY”

The mayor of General Pueyrredón, Guillermo Montenegro, received members of the Organizing Committee of the International Maxi Games Mar del Plata 2026 in a meeting on Thursday.

It was an enjoyable meeting in which various points (sports, social, tourism) were reviewed in relation to the event that will take place in La Feliz from November 24 to December 4 next year.

Some 20,000 athletes aged 30 and over are expected to participate, divided into 40 sports disciplines. This unique event, which is still a year away, is making great strides in terms of organization.

MONTENEGRO: “A VERY GOOD EVENT FOR THE CITY”

Once the meeting was over, Mayor Guillermo Montenegro assured that: "For Mar del Plata, it is a very good event, it is everything that is good. All the organizational experiences they have had here have been successful (the organizers were involved in the development of a Maxibasket World Championship and a National Senior Futbol Championship). Apart from the event itself, it generates work in the hotel and restaurant industries. The date of the event is very good, and participants will enjoy excellent weather in November."

RODRÍGUEZ LAMAS: “WE RECEIVED STRONG SUPPORT FROM THE CITY”

The president of the International Maxi Games Organizing Committee, Agustín Rodríguez Lamas, stated that “an event of this magnitude is impossible to hold without the support of the state, and in Mar del Plata we found strong support from the city.”

During the meeting, various aspects related to sports venues and participating disciplines were discussed, highlighting the interest of delegations from Mexico, El Salvador, Brazil, European countries, and contacts in Asia.

Also participating in the meeting were members of the Organizing Committee: Darío Weglin (vice president), Susana Treidel (secretary), Franco Zullich (assistant secretary), Viviana Busso, and Ezequiel Re (members).

Representing the municipality were Bernardo Martín (president of the Municipal Tourism and Culture Agency -EmturyC), Johanna Panebianco (vice president of EmturyC), and Valeria Méndez (director of Tourism, EmturyC).
