ABOUT COMPETITION
TRIALS & PARTICIPATION
The competition consists of one event:
A 1,500-meter freestyle swim on a buoyed course. Two laps of the course.
CATEGORIES
Under the regulations, the age as of December 31, 2026, is used for each category
ALL ABOUT THE COMPETENCE
CONDITIONS: The water temperature is expected to be between 18° and 20°.

Timekeeping will be conducted using an electronic chip that each swimmer must wear.
A professional timing and scoring company will be responsible for the scoring.
The following will be awarded for each event:

Finisher medals for athletes who cross the finish line.

Category medals for the top three finishers (gold, silver, and bronze).

Overall medals for the top three finishers (gold, silver, and bronze). The overall winners are selected from outside their respective categories.
The awards ceremony will take place after the competition concludes.
SCHEDULE
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 27:
Competitor kit pickup will take place in the city of Mar del Plata, at a location to be designated by the
organization. Registered participants will be notified in a timely manner and well in advance.
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 28:
8:00 a.m. Entry to the Mar del Plata Naval Base grounds.
9:00 a.m. Technical briefing for the competition.
9:30 a.m. Start of the 1,500-meter race.
10:15 a.m. Maximum competition time.
10:45 a.m. Awards ceremony.
12:00 p.m. End of the event.
GENERAL PROVISIONS

Entry to the competition area will not be permitted without accreditation

Schedules may be adjusted depending on the number of registrants.

The Organizing Committee reserves the right to modify technical or administrative aspects of the event.

The event is organized jointly by MMS Eventos Deportivos and the organizing committee of the International Maxi Games, in accordance with the applicable technical regulations.

ATHLETES FOR OPEN WATERS
A team staff member is an official member of the team who is NOT a player, coach, or delegate.
For example, this could be an assistant coach, massage therapist, physical therapist, etc.
Up to three extra team staff members will be allowed per team in addition to the 14 players.
The registration fee for each assistant will be $ USD.
They will receive the same benefits as players, except that they will not be allowed to play.
EXTRA TEAM STAFF
A companion is someone who is not part of the team but accompanies the team (family members, friends, etc.).
Each companion would have to pay $ USD.
They will receive the same benefits, discounts, gifts, free kit, and access to the games and social party.
They will NOT receive a participation diploma or medal and will not be able to join the team benches during the games.
